AAHPM is committed to training and developing prepared leaders with a goal of strengthening not only their organizations but also the subspecialty of hospice and palliative medicine.
AAHPM Leadership Forum
The AAHPM Leadership Forum is an innovative collection of training opportunities developed in partnership with the American Association for Physician Leadership. Its vision is to identify and refine nonclinical but equally critical leadership skills that hospice and palliative medicine physicians increasingly need for success.
The program is designed to offer a variety of learning opportunities and environments, including face-to-face interactive instruction, didactic instruction and web-based self-study. You can create your own customized and flexible learning pathway and select content based on your unique leadership development career goals.
Three distinct programs and types of learning experiences are available, including AAHPM Ignite, AAHPM Ascend, and AAHPM Elevate.
AAHPM Ignite is offered annually as a preconference program at the Annual Assembly, equipping hospice and palliative care team leaders with an understanding and recognition of one's strengths and limitations as a leader.
AAHPM Ascend is an intensive two-day program featuring "deeper dives" exploring focused topics and leadership skills that hospice and palliative medicine physicians increasingly need for success.
AAHPM Elevate is a collection of supplemental web-based, on-demand programs offered through American Association for Physician Leadership at a special rate for AAHPM members. Physicians are able to create and customize their own flexible learning pathway.
Self-study courses include ethical challenges, quality improvement, negotiation tactics, strategic thinking and decision making, and finance in healthcare organizations.
CME credit and a certificate of completion through AAHPM is available, depending upon how much education you chose to pursue. You may select some or all of the content offered based on your unique leadership and career development goals.
