The Art of Caring
The View from the Chair: Reflection of a Palliative Care Nurse
Ellen Wild, RN CHPN
I have had the pleasure of working with palliative care nurse Ellen Wild for the past several years, and I have learned from her insights from caring for seriously ill people in the hospital, clinic, and in their homes. I asked Ellen to share her reflections with the Quarterly readership so you may learn from her years of experience. I thank Ellen for her caring and sharing.

I am sitting outside in a comfortable chair on crisp fall afternoon. The view from my chair is of trees with leaves changing color and falling to the ground. The nearby cornfield is ready for harvest. The days are growing shorter.
