Inaugural AAHPM Council Leadership Appointed
AAHPM is pleased to announce and recognize the recently appointed leadership teams for the new AAHPM councils. The idea of creating councils to represent larger constituencies within the Academy has gained momentum over the past few years. Like special interest groups, councils provide pathways for participation in AAHPM. These larger forums will help the Academy more effectively address matters pertinent to constituent groups that represent more than 20% of our membership—hospice medical directors and academic palliative medicine.
Councils will provide new opportunities for members to have leadership roles within the Academy. Appointed representatives from each council will serve on all five of the Academy’s Strategic Coordinating Committees. Additional projects and initiatives may also be developed and supported by councils, when approved by the board.
