President's Message
Don’t Be a Boiling Frog
Janet Bull, MD MBA HMDC FAAHPM
When you put a frog in hot water it jumps out immediately. When placed in cold water that is gradually heated to boiling, the frog doesn’t recognize the subtle temperature changes and slowly cooks to death. This is analogous to how burnout occurs, wherein the threats that arise gradually are not recognized or reacted to and can lead to dire consequences.
