The Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care relies on peer reviewers to help identify high-quality, relevant, and evidence-informed educational content. By serving as a reviewer, you play an important role in shaping the educational program and advancing the field of hospice and palliative care.

AAHPM and HPNA welcome reviewers from across the interdisciplinary hospice and palliative care team.

Key Dates and Timeline

Application Period

  • Opens: Tuesday, September 8
  • Closes: Tuesday, September 22 at 11:59pm PT

Abstract Review Period

  • Opens: Monday, October 5, 2026
  • Closes: Monday, October 26 at 11:59pm PT

Before applying, please ensure you are available during the review period. Reviewers should expect to spend up to four hours reviewing assigned abstracts.

Previously Applied Summer Reviewers

If you applied to be a reviewer during the Summer Call and indicated interest in reviewing for the Fall Call, you do not need to submit another application. The Annual Assembly team will contact you directly to confirm your availability and continued interest.

Reviewer Opportunities

Reviewers will evaluate abstracts submitted for:

  • Late-Breaking Research
  • Early Career & Professionals in Training
  • RAPiD Posters

Because of the specialized nature of scientific research abstracts, applicants interested in reviewing Late-Breaking Research or RAPiD Poster submissions should have a research background.

All reviews are conducted using a double-blind review process, ensuring reviewer and author identities and institutions remain confidential throughout evaluation and selection.
