Dear AAHPM Members and the Hospice & Palliative Care Community,
Thanks to many of you for making the San Diego 2026 Annual Assembly a great one! As a reminder, you have until Monday, June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PT to access the Assembly website and claim CE credits.
And even though summer has just started, we’re already looking forward to the 2027 Annual Assembly which will take place March 17-20 in Pittsburgh, PA. The ‘City of Bridges’ (there are 143 active ones) has much to offer with a vibrant, walkable downtown and easy access to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
I hope you like fries because Pittsburgh is known for putting fries in sandwiches and even salads. It’s no surprise that the Big Mac was “invented” near Pittsburgh by McDonald’s franchise owner Jim Delligatti in 167 and distributed nationally in 1968. But I digress…
We need you for a successful 2027 Assembly!
- Become a reviewer of abstracts! We need representatives from all members of the interdisciplinary team and you don’t have to be a member of AAHPM or HPNA. Sign up by July 1.
- Submit an abstract!
- The Summer Call for Abstracts is open through July 7 at 11:59 PM Pacific. Preconference workshop proposals, podium and poster abstracts are welcomed across 7 different tracks, including Education, Hospice, Innovations in Care, Leadership and Program Development, Pediatrics, Scientific Research and Symptom Assessment and Management.
- The Fall Call for Abstracts opens September 8 and will include late breaking research (podium and posters), RAPiD posters, and Early Career/Professionals in Training (podium and posters).
So, make your plans now to join us in Pittsburgh, home of some of the best sport teams and where you’ll learn quickly what a “Pittsburgh Left” is if you drive around town!
Best regards,
Krys Hansen
AAHPM Director of Education & Learning
