Led by Ronit Elk, PhD, FAAHPM, and Joi Miner, this session explores how Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) can be used to foster collaboration between researchers and LGBT community members.
Despite growing awareness of health disparities, many LGBT individuals continue to face gaps in respectful, culturally congruent care. Drawing from three pilot studies, the presenters will share real-world insights from older Black Americans and White LGBT individuals and caregivers in the South, highlighting opportunities to build more inclusive and equitable systems of care.
