Rachel Thienprayoon is the Chief Well-Being Officer and a Professor of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where she is an attending physician on the pediatric hospice and palliative care team. She completed residency in general pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and was the inaugural hospice and palliative care fellow at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She is a national expert in quality, quality improvement, pediatric hospice and palliative care, clinician well-being, and organizational compassion in healthcare. She was named a Sojourns Scholar by the Cambia Health Foundation in 2020. In AAHPM, she has been active in the Pediatrics and Research Special Interest Groups, served as a board member of the Palliative Care Quality Collaborative from 2019-2025, and served as Chair of the Quality and Standards Committee. In 2023, she was a member of the Hospice Working Group, which was awarded the Gerald D. Homan Distinguished Service Award in 2024.
