Dr. Kyle Edmonds is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, where he leads clinical, educational, and systems‑level initiatives in Specialist Palliative Care. A board‑certified palliative care physician, he focuses on improving care for patients with serious illness through evidence‑informed communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and pragmatic clinical leadership. 

Dr. Edmonds has served in multiple AAHPM leadership roles including as Chair of the Advocacy and Awareness Strategic Coordinating Committee and the Public Policy Committee. He is a Delegate to the American Medical Association representing the great state of California. 

His academic work centers on clinical communication, health‑system design, and the culture of care delivery. He teaches learners across levels and collaborates with interprofessional teams to solve persistent challenges in seriously ill populations. Dr. Edmonds brings experience in governance, organizational strategy, and structured decision‑making, informed by his roles in national advocacy and medical association leadership. 

He is based in San Diego, California along with his partner, AAHPM member Toluwalase Ajayi, MD FAAP FAAHPM, and their three children.
