Dr. Reaves, III, is a Palliative Medicine physician with US Acute Care Solutions at Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland and Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. He is fellowship-trained in Hospice and Palliative Medicine from the National Institutes of Health and Capital Hospice. Dr. Reaves, III is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. An active member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), he served on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is the founder the Dr. Richard Payne Black Professionals, Patients, and Families Forum. In 2019 he was recognized as an “Emerging Leader in Hospice and Palliative Medicine”. Dr. Reaves, III clinical interests include culturally aligned care and communication at the end of life and the role of faith and religion in medical decision making in African-Americans communities.
