Dr. Reaves, III, is a Palliative Medicine physician with US Acute Care Solutions at Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland. He is fellowship-trained in Hospice and Palliative Medicine from the National Institutes of Health and Capital Hospice. Dr. Reaves, III is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. An active member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), he served on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is the founder the Black Professionals, Patients, and Families Forum. He was recognized in 2019 as an “Emerging Leader in Hospice and Palliative Care”. Dr. Reaves, III clinical interests include culturally sensitive communication regarding end-of-life care, medical ethics, and the role of faith and spirituality in medical decision making in African-Americans communities. His hobbies include music, foreign languages, and genealogy.
